Varicose veins are usually graded according to the CEAP classification.
This included 4 parameters: Clinical, Etiology, Anatomy and Pathophysiology.
C0 - No clinical signs
C1 - Telangiectasia(spider veins) or Reticular veins
C2 - Large varicose veins
C3 - Edema
C4 - Skin changes without ulceration
C5 - Skin changes with healed ulceration
C6 - Skin changes with active ulceration
EC - Congenital
EP - Primary
ES - Secondary (usually our to DVT)
AS - Superficial veins
AD - Deep veins
AP - Perforating veins
PR - Reflux
PO - Obstruction
PR-O - Both
